Community Garage Sale – April 25, 2015

Hello neighbors! The Board of Directors has received a few requests to have a community Garage Sale. A community sale was approved at the last Board meeting on March 26, 2015.

The sale will be held April 25, 2015 8am – 2pm. Would you like to participate? 

If yes, please send the following information to our Community Association Manager no later than April 15, 2015.

  • Complete address
  • Parcel identification number – look yours up here
    (Search by your address and locate the number in this format < xx-xx-xx-xxxx-xx-xxx >. It will be next to your address on the results screen)

There is no cost to participate.

Please note, you are responsible for removing any unsold items from your lawn and/or driveway when the sale is over. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community looking beautiful!

New Community Landscapers for Mabel Bridge

Ackman Bros. Selected as New HOA Landscaper

Early this year, our Mabel Bridge Landscape Committee sought out contract bids from several well known landscaping companies in our area, including an updated bid from our existing landscape maintenance provider. After careful review and analysis of their service offerings as well as in-person meetings with all of the bidding vendors, the Landscape Committee presented their recommendations to the Board or Directors during our January Board Meeting.

Ackman Bros. Landscaping, Inc. was determined to be the leading choice and was invited to the next Board Meeting.

Ackman Bros. made a presentation and answered questions from the Board as well as  Homeowners during our February Meeting. After some additional negotiation with Ackman, they were selected as our new landscape maintenance provider with a start date of April 1, 2015.

What to Expect

  • Homeowners will start to see trucks and staff from Ackman Bros. Landscaping in and around Mabel Bridge common areas right away.
  • Heavy pruning will take place on some shrubs and trees that are not currently in good health. In some cases, things may look worse before they look better. We have confidence that Ackman Bros. will help us restore our plants and shrubs, but it will take some time.

You’re Invited! Movie Night Under the Stars at First Baptist Church

Free “Big Hero 6” Movie Event Friday, March 6, 2015

First Baptist Church Windermere has invited Mabel Bridge Community members to join them for a movie night under the stars on the soccer field at their Lakeside campus.

  • Details: The movie they will be showing is “Big Hero 6”
  • Cost: This event is free!  Concessions will be available for purchase.
  • Date: Friday, March 6, 2015
  • Time: 6:30pm
  • Location: First Baptist Church Windermere Lakeside Campus. 8464 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Orlando, FL 32836.

Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase or you can bring your own snacks or dinner.

Board of Directors Establishes Landscape Committee

During the November Board of Directors meeting, the Board created a new committee for the Mabel Bridge Community, a Landscaping Committee.

The Landscaping Committee will assist the Board of Directors by making recommendations on Landscape related projects, such as the selection of vendors, decorative changes, improvements in irrigation efficiency and more.

Volunteers were sought to occupy this committee and three homeowners volunteered during the November meeting. These individuals were appointed to the committee at that time. The BOD thanks these volunteers for their valuable time and assistance.

Questions or comments about the Landscaping Committee can be raised a future Board of Directors meeting or sent to our Community Association Manager (CAM).

 

Architecture Review Board (ARB) Meeting Feb 17, 2015

Mabel Bridge Architecture Review Board (ARB) is meeting at 6 PM on Feb 17, 2015 at the Mabel Bridge Community Pool. The purpose of this meeting is for the members of the ARB to review architecture change requests. This meeting is open to all Mabel Bridge homeowners.

Please note:This meeting was originally scheduled for Feb 18th. On Feb 13th, it was rescheduled for Feb 17th.
